SATELLITE FACILITY INMATE WALKS AWAY FROM MISSISSIPPI DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION MAINTENANCE BARN NEAR CARROLLTON

Greenwood….Corrections officials at the Leflore County Satellite Facility at Greenwood were notified Friday afternoon that State Inmate Stanford Coleman, Jr. apparently walked away from the Department of Transportation barn located near Carrollton where he was working.  Local law enforcement authorities from Carroll, Leflore and surrounding counties were notified of the escape and a search was begun to locate the escapee.  At the time of the escape, Coleman was wearing state issued green and white stripped pants and a white cotton shirt with MDOC CONVICT across the back.

White Male, Age 37

Blue Eyes, Brown Hair

Sentence 7 yrs. – Burglary and Vehicle Theft,

Desoto County

 

Inmate Coleman was discovered missing by a Department of Transportation work-site supervisor shortly before 3 PM.  On Monday, Law enforcement authorities continued to search for Coleman.  Officials report that Coleman is not considered to be dangerous as he was sentenced for commission of nonviolent crimes.
