Escaped State Inmate Back in Custody

 Jackson - Mississippi Department of Corrections (MDOC) Inmate CHARLES RAY WARREN, MDOC #157989, who escaped from the Simpson County Community Work Center on June 24, was captured this evening in Lombard, Illinois without incident.

 MDOC Investigators along with the Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force, Oxford, Miss., developed information during the course of the escape investigation that led to Warren’s successful arrest by the Illinois U.S. Marshal Service at approximately 5:45 p.m. central standard time.

 Warren, who was serving a 5-year sentence for a conviction of Vehicle Theft and Malicious Mischief from Hinds County, will he held in the Cook County, Illinois jail pending extradition proceedings.  Now, Warren will be facing felony escape charges upon his return to Mississippi.
